AUGUST RING 199 MEETING
The August 2nd Ring meeting’s magic theme will be MENTAL MAGIC.
Also, the Ring will cast a single vote to accept our slate of officers that have been nominated. The Ring was unanimous in our nomination of our current officers to another year in office!

They did a super job this past year and we all look forward to another year of great magic and fun meetings. The Ring Officers will be installed at the September Ring meeting which is the start of our fiscal year.
Michael Creech plans to be at the meeting again to auction off 2-3 of Hughie Olmsted magic estate items at the beginning of the meeting so Don’t miss it!
Remember: Ring’s MYI (Magic Youth International) Youth Magicians Group meets at 6pm at NHF Annex, just before the Ring meeting! ALL YOUTH UNDER 18 THAT ARE INTERESTED IN MAGIC ARE INVITED TO ATTEND AND PARTICIPATE!

PHIL WILLMARTH COMPLETES YEAR AS IBM INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT
IBM International President for 2007-8, Phil Willmarth, is also an active member of Raleigh Ring 199.
Phil has just completed a very successful year serving as the International President of our world-wide magic organization.
Phil & Robbie travelled all over the world representing the IBM this past year, and we are proud to have them as members of our Ring. Ring 199 commissioned a nice program advertisement congratulating them both on a great year in office, but be sure to congratulate them when you see them after the IBM/SAM combined convention in Louisville in July!

THE WORLD’S GREATEST MAGIC SHOW COMING TO RALEIGH – NOV 13-14

This Broadway Series South Show has FIVE top notch magicians performing at the Raleigh Memorial Auditorium on Thursday November 13th and Friday the 14th. Shows are at 7pm each night! This is the touring version of the same Las Vegas show that is running there and the magicians are rotated through both shows on a regular basis. (I saw the Las Vegas show in June and it was terrific!) .
ARDEN JAMES, DAVE THOMAS, JEFF HOBSON, JOSEPH GABRIEL AND ROY SHANK are scheduled to perform (some substitutions of performers may take place). This lineup will deliver a great show for you and the family!

We have arranged that Ring 199 Magicians, their families and other magicians getting our newsletter will be able to book tickets at a 10% discount through a special website. You also won’t have to pay the Ticketmaster service charges either! In the spirit of magic brotherhood, we invite any magicians and families, who are not members of the Ring, to also get their tickets through our special offer!
Here is how to get the discounted tickets (Do not delay… tickets should go fast).
You must use this special discount website: Magician Discount
Input the Special Offer Code “Ring199″ (Capital R and no spaces) when asked.
Once you enter that, you should “create a new account”.
Tickets are available for both nights and there are no service charges like there would be if the tickets were purchased through Ticketmaster. The only charge is $1.25 per ticket fee to print them from the computer which is much cheaper than through Ticketmaster.
Here is a summary of how to get tickets using the discount website:
1) Go to the special discount website listed in my note.
2) Click on “Find Tickets” at the right side.
3) Enter only the password (Ring199) on the page with a choice of email or password.
Put Ring199 (no spaces ) in the “Special Offer Code” and click Verify at the bottom
4) Create an account (put in your email address in lower case letters). Choose your password.
5) Fill in information asked for.
6) Pick number of tickets and price
7) Fill out payment type information
Print your tickets on your printer (take them with you the night of the show)
Tip: If you build an account and are unable to get back in, there is a button for forgotten password.

MAGIC TV – ON AROUND THE CLOCK
Street of Cards (SOC) is online 24 hours per day, 7 days a week! This free Magic TV Station originates from Las Vegas and has constant live video and clips of magic running. There are many videos stored and you can choose which one to view. Gary Darwin’s Magic Club weekly meetings are online live and also videotaped for your viewing.

HUGHIE OLMSTED MAGIC ESTATE AUCTION – September 18th
Ring 199 member Michael Creech, who is a long time friend of the Olmsted family, is coordinating an estate auction of Hughie’s magic.
As you know, Hughie owned The Magic Corner for many years and when he sold the shop, he kept four or five trunks of magic including some fine, old books and effects. There are many ‘beginner magic’ effects as well. If you, or someone you know is just getting started in magic… these items would be GREAT for them!
Circle this date… SEPTEMBER 18th - 7pm – New Horizons Fellowship – Apex, NC (This special event will be held in place of our normal magic session that night)
